Amgueddfa Mwyngloddiau De Cymru Yn derbyn cyllid gan Gronfa Dreftadaeth y Loteri Genedlaethol
South Wales Miners Museum were the proud receipents of the Arts Culture and Heritage award presented by Neath Port Talbot CVS for their work preserving and sharing the rich history of mining in the Welsh valleys.

Cynhaliwyd digwyddiad lansio ddydd Gwener 29 Mai 2026 yn Amgueddfa Glowyr De Cymru i gydnabod derbyn grant sylweddol gan Gronfa Dreftadaeth y Loteri Genedlaethol. Yn bresennol yn y digwyddiad roedd Andrew White, Cyfarwyddwr Cymru, Cronfa Dreftadaeth y Loteri Genedlaethol, Stephen Kinnock AS, y cynghorwyr lleol Jeff Jones a Scott Jones ynghyd â chynrychiolwyr o Gyngor Castell-nedd Port Talbot.
Mae'r Amgueddfa wrth ei bodd o fod wedi derbyn y gefnogaeth hon gan Gronfa Dreftadaeth y Loteri Genedlaethol. Diolch i chwaraewyr y Loteri Genedlaethol byddwn yn gallu cefnogi'r Bwrdd a gwirfoddolwyr eraill yn yr amgueddfa trwy benodi dau aelod allweddol o staff a fydd yn adeiladu ar y cynllun datblygu, gan ganolbwyntio ar y risgiau a'r gwydnwch sy'n angenrheidiol i symud yr amgueddfa unigryw hon ymlaen gyda chryfder a hyblygrwydd i ofynion ei hymwelwyr.

School Visit
Pupils of Knelston Primary School Swansea enjoyed a visit to South Wales Miners Museum. One of the activities was learning about why the Davy lamp was invented and how it helped to protect coalminers from explosions underground.

Visit from Brazil
We were delighted to recently welcome 40 visitors all the way from Brazil to The South Wales Miners Museum. They booked their visit through Bournemouth school of English and enjoyed learning about the history of mining in South Wales.

Museum Library
The Museum holds a vast collection of books on mining and local history donated by miners and their families. These have now been catalogued and a searchable index is available on our Website
