Learn about our mining heritage, here at SWMM

South Wales Miners' Museum offers a varied and engaging range of educational activities for pupils from Key Stage 1 through to A-Level.

Our programme has been developed directly with and for schools and additional partners in the South West Wales (ERW) and Central South (CSC) education consortia.

If you are looking for a memorable and engaging visit, or to enrich school based activities, then South Wales Miners' Museum has the perfect package to offer you and your pupils.

In addition to physical visits to the museum and country park, our new 'DIY Museum' sessions also brings the museum experience direct to your school

Our staff work directly with teachers to build a bespoke programme of visits with accompanying class based tasks, offering an adaptable and customisable plan that can help embed the teaching of the LNF and the Donaldson approach to experiential learning.

Our on site classroom also affords school groups the perfect location to engage with heritage and enjoy an engaging day visit right in the heart of the beautiful Afan Forest Park
