South Wales Mines Museum Receive funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund

A launch event was held on Friday 29th May 2026 at the South Wales Miners Museum to acknowledge receipt of a major National Lottery Heritage Fund grant. Present at the event were Andrew White, Director for Wales, The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Stephen Kinnock MP, local councillors Jeff Jones and Scott Jones along with representatives of Neath Port Talbot Council.
The Museum is thrilled to have received this support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players we will be able to support the Board and other volunteers at the museum by the appointment of two key staff members who will build on the development plan, focusing upon the risks and the resilience necessary to take this unique museum forward with strength and adaptability to the demands of its visitors.
