Heritage Walks

- Argoed Brickworks. Collieries were not the only industrial feature in the valleys. Clay is often found alongside coal so entrepreneurial colliery owners extracted and made it into bricks.

-Cynonville Halt. This now abandoned railway station once formed part of the Rhondda and Swansea Bay railway that connected the coalfields of Rhondda with the port at Swansea.

-Cynon Level. Drift mines like this one were commonplace in the Afan Valley. This colliery was closed in the 1960s but the entrance and head stone still remain.

-Afan Valley in 1913. Here you will be treated to a glorious view of the Afan Valley. It is very different landscape to what would have been a hundred years ago.
